ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Cumberland City Council proudly operates 14 Education and Care services across the community where our staff educate and care for children from birth to 13 years of age.
Across our long day care, out of school hours care and family day care services, our staff are passionate about empowering today’s children to become tomorrow’s future by teaching children to be respectful, resilient and confident in an environment that is accepting, safe and inspiring.
We have an exciting opportunity for multiple Assistant - OOSH positions to undertake the daily operation of Council's centre's and be committed to educating and nurturing children from all communities to be respectful, resilient and confident. You will transport children safely to and from school each day, assist in the kitchen to deliver a nutritional meal and in the delivery of an innovative and educational program.
The successful applicant will require:
No formal qualification required Current Working with Children Check clearance Working knowledge and understanding of programs for school aged children Up to date knowledge of Child Protection Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate as approved by ACECQA (or willing to obtain) Completion of Food Handler/Safety Training (or willing to obtain) Proven skills and experience in the following areas: Passion for Education and careCustomer serviceCommunication skills in written and oral formatComputer operating systemsEffective time management and organisational skills.Download the position description here for more information.
Position information: There are 2 x permanent, part-time positions, working various hours per week. The position is rostered to work Monday to Friday, from 6:00am to 6:00pm on a rostered arrangement with split shifts required and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations.
These roles are predominantly located at Council's Sherwood Grange OOSH, with occasional travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations.
1 x permanent, part-time position working 40 hours per fortnight 1 x permanent, part-time position working 20 hours per fortnightSalary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
Grade 2 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a hourly rate of $27.60 to $31.74, plus 11% superannuation The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the roleCouncil fully supports the aims and objectives of NSW Child Protection Legislation, and associated provisions, and will implement all necessary measures to ensure a safe and supporting Council environment, which endeavours to promote child safe child friendly practices. It is essential for applicants to submit their WWCC number with their application. It is an offence under NSW legislation for barred workers to apply for or otherwise attempt to obtain, undertake or remain in child-related employment.
