Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace Shellharbour and Kiama. We are a for-purpose community-based organisation. GPH provides high quality health services to assist people in the management of their physical and mental health. GPH's mission is to provide equitable heath care with an emphasis on helping vulnerable and at risk of disadvantage populations as well as regional communities.
GPH employs over 400 staff including many qualified health and other professionals including peer workers and community workers. GPH operations cover a large regional geographical footprint in NSW and ACT.
About The Position
The Mental Health Clinician will work collaboratively with a young person and their family to identify their support needs, goals and develop collaborative care plans. The clinician will provide high quality psycho-social assessment and evidence-based, focused psychological interventions to young people aged 12 to 25 referred to headspace Shellharbour and Kiama.
This position requires working closely with the other members of the headspace Shellharbour and Kiama teams and external service providers to maximise care outcomes for young people referred to headspace Shellharbour and Kiama, along with fostering a culture of youth friendly, socially, and culturally inclusive service experience for young people.
This position is based across our headspace Shellharbour and Kiama hubs, full-time and part-time hours available. Applicants may express an interest in working 3 days in Kiama, 2 days in Shellharbour or both. This role is fixed term until 30 June 2026 with possibility for extension.
We Are Looking For Someone With
Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Nurse with postgraduate MH qualifications, or Occupational Therapist (accredited in mental health), Social Worker with current accreditation or eligibility for accreditation with the AASW as a Mental Health Social Worker or Counsellor holding Clinical Registration with PACFA or the ACA (min Level 3).Experience in assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders, provision of Cognitive- Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based focused psychological strategies.Demonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems.Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people, and their family and friends.
