**The opportunity**

We are looking for a talented and highly-motivated Manager, Policy to lead the design and delivery of strategic policy and government initiatives that deliver meaningful outcomes for the people and environment of NSW.
Leading a team, you will critically analyse complex environmental issues and develop innovative, strategic and practical solutions.

You will provide high-quality and nuanced advice to government and senior executives to shape and influence decision making on critical policy issues across a range of topics, such as waste and resource recovery, plastics, carbon abatement and contaminated lands. You will play a key role in delivering on the NSW Government's and the EPA's strategic objectives.

You will manage projects across all stages of the policy development process - including ideation, stakeholder engagement, analysis, evaluation, design, advice and briefings - ensuring they are delivered on time and in line with government objectives and policy directions.

You will lead, develop and mentor a team to build their capability and professional development. You will inspire, guide and motivate your team to deliver on organisational and government objectives in a dynamic work environment with competing priorities.

**The team**

The role is in the NSW EPA's Major Projects and Initiatives Branch. We lead the design and delivery of innovative, high-priority and highly visible policies and initiatives that place the wellbeing of NSW people and environments at their centre.

You will be joining a multi-skilled, high-performing and passionate team with a proven track record in delivering on the strategic priorities of the EPA and the NSW Government, and who are committed to supporting the EPA's ambition of being a world class regulator.

You are driven and committed to working through and achieving challenging goals, and remain calm, flexible and responsive to changing priorities.
