**About the Role**:
This is an important new role reporting to the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (CRCO). You will work closely with the CRCO in supporting the Divisional Leadership Team to deliver on the Strategic Objectives outlined in the Divisional Business Plan. This will include working across a range of strategic objectives, accountabilities and commitments to the Senior Management Team (SMT), Board, regulators and AAL Group to enable the effective execution of the divisional strategy. This role will be an integral member of the Divisional Leadership Team as someone who is flexible, collaborative and works across all disciplines to deliver excellence to Customers and stakeholders.
**Key aspects of the role**:
- Contribute to the Division's advice, review and challenge relating to emerging risks, thought leadership and source external insights to enable the Division to be trusted advisers to the business.
- Support the innovation across the Division to enable efficient, data driven monitoring and analysis to effectively identify potential systemic issues, insights and calls to action.
- Drive improvements in line with the R&C strategy through optimisation of processes and activities across the Division using innovative use of workplace technology e.g. Artifical Intelligence (AI)
- Assist the CRCO in setting agendas and reviewing draft papers submitted for the Australian Risk Committee (ARiCo) and Board Committees to ensure papers meet their purpose and are clear, concise, impactful and contain insights and calls to action.
**Important to your success**:
- Extensive experience in financial services risk management, assurance and compliance as well as in a strategic role in a complex, matrixed general insurance, financial services or consulting organisation.
- Highly-developed leadership and stakeholder management skills which enable cross-functional thinking in the development and implementation of strategies.
- Experience in leading others to utilise data analytics, AI and other technology tools to generate efficiencies and more effective risk management monitoring.
- Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically experience in drafting board papers and briefings for Senior Leaders.
