About Us
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the Role
This role contributes to the development of safe and effective family violence practice across MCV, in line with the Family Violence Protection Act (Part 5A) and the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act (Part 6A).
Reporting to the MARAMIS Capability Development Lead, the role undertakes activities that build capability and support MCV staff's capacity to complete family violence risk assessments and undertake risk management activities commensurate with mapped MARAMIS responsibilities. This role works with staff across multiple areas of MCV, including court operations, Specialist Courts and Programs and the Family Violence Practitioner workforce.
This role includes the provision of small and large group training, individual coaching sessions and the development and leading of Communities of Practice within targeted areas of MCV's workforce. In addition, this role liaises and builds connections with external partners to support MCV's ability to provide integrated service responses across sectors.
About You
- Relevant qualifications in family violence and/or experience working with victims' survivors and adults using family violence will be highly regarded.
- Experience leading or developing training sessions will be positively regarded but is not essential.
