**Description**:
The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Design Drafter Track & Civil to join our dynamic high performing team on a full time basis at our head office near the Perth Airport.

The Role

In this role you will use your skills to contribute to the delivery of the Track Infrastructure Design in the evaluation and preparation of specialised railway civil engineering designs and plans as well as prepare and manage railway corridor plans. Site visits and preparation of survey plans will also be required, together with other works as required such in as earthworks design, track geometry design and perway engineering design, ensuring safe and reliable train operations.

The general duties and responsibilities of this role support Arc's Asset & Engineering Management objectives, as related to the Track Engineering.

**Your key duties and responsibilities will be**:

- Prepare and coordinate designs and plans for works in accordance with technical standards and quality procedures;
- Manage design components and carrying out design checks;
- Undertake site visits and prepare survey plans (as required);
- Specify and review of design input requirements to the engineering team;
- Advise and liaise with internal and external stakeholders;
- Assist in the specification and documentation of works;
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of internal projects and projects of external parties;
- Prepare and amend rail corridor plans (as required);
- Undertake site visits and prepare survey plans (as required).
- These tasks may alter at the discretion of the Principal Track Engineer to support changing business requirements. It is an expectation that the incumbent will be responsible for undertaking any activity at the direction of the Principal Track Engineer that is within their capability in order to support the business objectives.

About You

To be successful in this role we need you to have
- Diploma in Engineering or similar ( or extensive experience in a similar role);
- Minimum ten years' experience in a design engineering environment;
- Minimum five years' rail design experience, with experience in Brownfield environment with Multiple and Passenger Rail Tracks, Metro tracks with preference given to personnel with previous Brookfield or Arc Infrastructure design experience;
- Proven CAD skills in MicroStation or equivalent CAD package;
- Proven Design skills or experience preferably using 12D or other equivalent design package;
- Proven ability to check 3D models, drawings and other associated design deliverables;
- Any previous work engaged on behalf of Arc Infrastructure will be viewed favourably.
- GIS and Global Mapper experience would be a bonus (but not essential).

**Skills and Competencies**:

- Have a strong understanding of Road and Rail Design philosophies along with civil construction techniques.
- Have a sound working knowledge and thorough understanding of Geometric Rail Design Standards & Specifications, Operational requirements, Safety in Design considerations, together with general site constraints affecting the optimization of the Track Alignment Design, especially in Multi Line, Passenger Lines, coupled with Platforms and Structures etc.
- Have strong interpersonal skills & ability to productively work with other engineering professionals in a dynamic project environment.
- Must be computer literate with relevant CAD/ Design software and MS Office Suite of programs
