About the Role

We are currently looking for motivated and passionate Full Time Permanent Cold Larder Chef who can work AM shifts to join the supportive and friendly team at Baptcare The Orchards Community located in Doncaster East, VIC.

The Role of the Cold Larder Chef is to deliver and ensure that the meals and refreshments are provided to the residents that meet their individual nutritional needs and preferences. The role is responsible for providing services that are in line with the Food Safety Program guidelines.

Key Duties

Contribute to the production of food items such as main meals, salad, sandwiches, hot and cold desserts, baked goods, and special meals to meet residents' individual needs and nutritional requirements

Follow recipe cards and prepare defined menus in a timely manner

Ensure food is prepared and presented well to the highest standards

Follow dietary requirements in line with allergies, intolerances and IDDSI modified food standards

Following the Food Safety Program guidelines in food preparation, cleaning, and sanitising

Assist with the management of stock - ordering, rotation and stocking items and follow FIFO

Prepare sandwich, salads & baked items for the café and support the retail café area for functions and events within the residence

Assist the Head Chef with overall operations of the kitchen or as requested/directed

About You

Aged Care industry. Solution focused and wanting to make a difference, you align your approach to strategize for achieving organisational and divisional goals.

Working as part of a close-knit team, you collaborate with and support others, demonstrating respect in your day-to-day actions.

You will ideally bring You are passionate about continuing to grow your career in hospitality within the Residential the following:
Relevant Industry Training - Food Handling and Hygiene Certificate.

Commercial cookery certificate III / IV

Previous experience and working knowledge of menu items, ordering and preparation of special diet meals/desserts

Previous experience working in catering in a residential aged care facility

A team player with a Can-do attitude
