Permanent part-time position for Maintenance and Gardening Attendant- 15 hours/week (3 days) in Page and 10 hours/week (2 days) in Kaleen, ACT- NFP Tax benefits - salary package up to $15,900 and $2,650 for meals and entertainment allowance.

We are looking for a Maintenance and Gardening Attendant for a permanent position in Page and Kaleen, ACT. This is a part-time role to look after day-to-day lawn mowing, gardening and maintenance activities across our Retirement Villages to ensure the building and grounds are always looking and operating at their absolute best.

About the role:
This role is a permanent position with 50 hours per fortnight and will be well suited to maintenance personnel familiar with the day-to-day upkeep of building and grounds.

Your responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
- Respond to maintenance requests in an efficient and timely manner.- Minor building repair works to building fixtures.- Maintenance of gardens, lawns, irrigation, pools and grounds- Assist residents with minor maintenance works such as light globes, broken fly screens, minor lock repairs.- Setting up and taking down for special functions - such as a Village BBQ or morning tea- Assist with safety inspections and light cleaning of community centres- Other duties as directed by the Leader

What are we looking for?- Verifiable experience in a maintenance role in aged care/retirement living or similar setting would be desirable but not essential.- Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards sustained maintenance of building and grounds.- Trade qualification preferred but not essential.- Willing to learn about aged care and the principles guiding this sector.- Ability to interact with the elderly residents on a day-to-day basis.- LR Drivers licence as you may be required to drive the village bus- Willing to undergo a National Police check.
