**A leading, world wide lifewear clothing and accessories retailer are currently looking for a Junior Merchandise Planner to join their team**

This role is responsible for driving the merchandise strategy and optimising inventory to meet and exceed financial goals. You will develop seasonal product strategies based on business opportunities and collaborate with cross-functional departments to execute the department vision. You will manage and plan merchandise inventory positions and markdown strategies to drive departmental sales, inventory, profit and sell thru objectives.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Understanding opportunities in Australian market by working with various departments/members of the Global Headquarters/ Production/ Factory, to maximise sales and fulfil customer satisfaction
- Build financial sales, gross margin and inventory plans on a weekly basis at item level
- Create pricing strategy by item that maximises sales and gross profit
- Re-forecast business in-season based on current performance, present revised projections and recommendations to cross functional partners and senior leadership
- Create and plan product assortments (item, colour, size) for each product category
- Collaborate with cross functional departments, ie. Marketing and Store Operations, to ensure success of product strategies
- Work with visual merchandisers to execute monthly layouts across different store formats
- Generate reports as requested by business partners, or senior executives
- 1 to 3 years of experience in planning/merchandising/allocation is desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Excellent analytical ability; Quick learner
- Ability to handle multiple projects effectively
- Sense of urgency and accuracy
- Demonstrated sensitivity to cross cultural environments
