About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the CAMHS team as a Mental Health Clinical Nurse.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing assessment, education, counselling, and group work to support children, adolescents, and their families with mental health needs.
Ensuring clinical practice aligns with policy, maintaining accountability for your standards and delegated activities.
Collaborating with other professional disciplines and non-government organisations to achieve optimal consumer health and recovery.
Offering direction, support, orientation, and education to staff, fostering a skilled and informed team.
Leading and participating in research, quality improvement initiatives, and policy development within the service.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Registration or eligibility for registration as a nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with a current practicing certificate or eligibility to hold one.
Enrolled in an approved mental health course or holding a qualification in mental health practice.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals and families for positive mental health outcomes and to foster productive relationships across disciplines.
The ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve positive outcomes.
The ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines while working independently.
At least 3 years of full-time equivalent post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse.
Demonstrated ability to conduct complex mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions with children and adolescents experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties.
