**About the role**:
Opportunities exist for a fixed term Analyst level III at our North Melbourne site, Analysts at Level III in Chemistry conduct routine sample preparation and food testing. They conduct a wide range of basic tests and a limited range of specialised tests and measurements using manual, semi-automated and fully automated techniques. If the test is automated, they may analyse data and report results.

**Requirements**:

- Processing and interpreting data.
- Defining and solving problems of limited complexity where the information available is less obvious, but not contradictory, and can be determined by direct reasoning
- Conducting routine sample preparation and a range of routine tests
- Organising work areas
- Conducting basic troubleshooting
- Indicative preparation and routine testing skills used at this level may include filtration, digestion, extraction, preparing standard solutions, using analytical instruments, spectroscopy (ultraviolet/visible, atomic absorption, fluorescence, flame emission, Inductively Coupled Plasma), routine chromatography (gas, liquid, high pressure, column) and electrometric techniques
