**The role**
Reporting to the EVP Technical, the Group Sustainability Manager is the functional lead for sustainability across the business, and responsible for developing corporate sustainability strategies which ensure operating practices eliminate or minimise Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions. The role is also responsible for leading the business to achieve and maintain a carbon neutral footprint, in accordance with the company's sustainability strategy, while adapting to evolving sustainable practices, strategies and regulatory controls. The role also has direct responsibility for identification, screening and, together with the relevant BU, entry into sustainability and carbon sequestration projects.

Additionally, the Group Sustainability Manager will:

- Develop and agree the Sustainability Strategy with the executive and Board, involving the relevant parts of Karoon's business
- Together with the relevant BU, corporate EVP, HSSE Manager and HR Manager, recommend potential sustainability-related projects to the executive team and ensure entry into appropriate commercial projects to reduce Karoon's net Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions to zero by 2035
- Build and develop corporate organisational skills and capabilities to identify, screen, acquire/invest in sustainability projects and programmes and work with the BUs to develop the capabilities to develop, implement and manage sustainability projects and programmes
- Lead implementation and embedding of Karoon's Sustainability Strategy across all Business Units.
- Coach, train and empower BU teams to deliver sustainability outcomes
- Lead preparation of the annual Sustainability Report and Sustainability section of the quarterly, half-yearly and annual reports and other corporate reporting as required e.g. annual Modern Slavery Statement, TCFD, GRI, SBTi, SASB, CDP, IPIECA, ISSB.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Karoon's Carbon Management Action Plan
- To ensure BUs implement and manage Social Investment Strategy development, implementation, and maintenance in line with Karoon's Sustainability Strategy.
- Provide guidance and advice to BUs on Karoon's discretionary community social and environmental projects.
- Work closely with the Investor Relations and External Affairs Teams to engage with investors, analysts, and other key stakeholders on sustainability issues.

**About you**
Experienced in sustainability strategy development and delivery, with an emphasis on climate, you will possess strong written and verbal communication skills together with demonstrated ability to network and foster key internal and external relationships, in order to lead a step change in climate ambition outcomes.

Additionally, you will have:

- Bachelor's degree level qualification or higher in a related discipline, such as engineering, environmental science, or finance.
- Experience in project identification, screening, implementation, and development
- Experience in sustainability analysis and reporting for ASX listed organisations
- Knowledge of ASX Listing Rules and Commonwealth legislation relating to climate analysis and reporting and modern slavery reporting
- An understanding of Australian and international carbon regulations, markets and certifications including the Safeguard Mechanism, Australian Carbon Credit Units, cross border adjustment mechanisms, verified emission reduction unit certification, monitoring, and reporting and carbon pricing.
- Awareness of community, social and environmental programmes
- Ability to quickly and accurately take up other software that may be required for crisis, risk, document control and/or project management.

Highly Desirable:

- Relevant industry knowledge regarding the complexities of offshore operations, oil and gas exploration, production, shipping, and associated support services
- Previous experience of working and/or living in Brazil
