We are looking for a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer/Support Analyst with expertise in Data Engineering and PySpark to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our data infrastructure and applications.Open to Sydney and Melbourne locations.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor, maintain, and enhance the performance, availability, and reliability of data processing systems and Spark platforms through automation, proactive mitigation, and disaster recovery planning.Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and stakeholders for seamless data solution integration and infrastructure upgrades.Identify automation opportunities to improve system efficiency, implement scripts, and optimize workflows.Provide production support, conduct root cause analysis, and maintain documentation for incident management.Ensure compliance with ITIL, data security, and backup standards, maintaining detailed runbooks and aligning with IT controls.What do I need?
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, or related field.Experience: Proven track record as an SRE or similar role in Data Engineering, managing Spark platforms.Technical ExpertiseProficiency in PySpark, Spark, Hadoop, Hive.Experience with data pipelines and troubleshooting Spark issues.Knowledge of data orchestration tools and distributed computing.Strong Linux, networking, CPU, memory, and storage fundamentals.Soft SkillsProblem-solving, attention to detail.Effective communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.Why join us?
