You will work closely with one of the founders who lives and breathes technology and automation. You will own the roadmap and be responsible for creating operational efficiency through automation. As a business, we are forward-thinking with the team's backing to do more and help increase productivity.
We require someone to come on board as our
**Automation and Operations Lead** experienced to join us on our journey and help us get to the next phase of the technology vision.
This role will suit a tech-savvy / automation functional consultant who wants to push the boundaries on streamlining work through automation, we want this person to bring their ideas to the table and is not afraid to learn something new to help accelerate the business operationally and commercially.
**Must have**:
Ideally, you must be very strong or proficient in Excel/Google sheets (pivot tables) and have the ability to analyse data and read/write complex formulas. If you are confident in the above, then the flow of how Zapier works will make sense (e.g. triggers/events/tasks etc.)
**Or**
You will have a low-level understanding of coding (aka APIs) and how they work. This is not a must-have, but it will help you understand the flow to get the automation to work.
- **You may require training in other SaaS products we use.**
**SaaS Products**:
- Airtable / Sheets / Excel (DB)
- Zapier (APIs)
- Slack (Messaging)
- Pointagram / Notion / JobAdder & other SaaS tools (Tokens)
**Duties**:
**Automation**:
- Own and develop the roadmap
- Spot new opportunities in areas we can automate/streamline
- Refine process and apps
- Documentation
- Create new zaps and automation tasks
- Work closely with the founders
**Operations**:
- Work with the founders on the overarching strategy of the business
- Business process management
- Manage company events
- Arrange travel for employees
- Create and manage workplace policies
- Tender preparation
- Ad-hoc Value-add projects
- Award submissions
- EOM presentations
- Onboarding and training new employees
- Visa Applications
- WHS
- Work closely with the marketing manager
**Support on new Ventures/Services**:
- As a business, we are often looking at creating new ventures or services, you may sometimes be asked to help with Ops or Automation on these projects.
- Work closely with the marketing manager.
- Act as the Product Manager.
**Experience needed for this role**:
- Outstanding organisational skills
- Ability to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency using automation
- A passion for all things automation - we will invest in you and support you with external training specific to your role
- Ideally, some experience using automation tools/software - _yup, we know this is a unique role, and there are not many organisations that see value in this, but there are a lot of automation gurus out there that I know would relish the opportunity._
- Any exposure to recruitment or the hiring process or even business operations would be great to have
- Experience using cloud base software (SaaS) and Apple/Windows computers
- You will be assertive and enthusiastic, with extensive knowledge of process optimisation and an excellent worth ethic
- You must be comfortable working with people and budgets and have an excellent commercial approach to solving problems and developing business processes.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to understand individual and team barriers to achieving their goals and using these insights to build internal systems, tools and automations to improve efficiencies and productivity.
- Ensure internal systems are regularly reviewed and that there are data-driven measures to allow advising on human resources initiatives and for assisting in the planning for internal growth programs.
