The role This role is responsible for leading the coordination of business intelligence, analytics, and data reporting activities to support the provision of voluntary assisted dying services in Queensland. Key tasks include developing strategies, policies, and best practices to promote consistency and collaboration across these functions. The role involves providing strategic advice to senior management on enhancing analytics and data modelling capabilities, ensuring accurate and reliable reporting. Additionally, collaboration with the Office of the Review Board is required to improve the suite of Power BI reports and additional data sets for stakeholders, ensuring high-quality business intelligence delivery.
Further responsibilities include providing independent assurance on all data-related initiatives, establishing effective networks with internal and external stakeholders, and representing the Department in interjurisdictional meetings and voluntary assisted dying working groups across Australia and New Zealand. This position also prioritizes resource allocation, supports staff development, manages performance, and ensures that the team meets deadlines while contributing to the broader objectives of the Voluntary Assisted Dying Unit and the Review Board.
The successful personTo succeed in this role, you will have proven expertise in data analysis and reporting, with the capability to present data in a clear and impactful way. You will also have a strong track record in developing, implementing, and managing resources that promote best practices in business intelligence and data analytics within a large, complex organisation.
Additionally, you will have experience working in complex and sensitive environments, demonstrating respectful and effective engagement with stakeholders who may hold differing opinions. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), problem-solving abilities, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to consult with staff across all levels.
