**Position Purpose**

A Lecturer Level B is expected to develop scholarly research outputs and professional activities relevant to
the discipline. This position contributes to the teaching effort of the Discipline through the preparation and
delivery of lectures, tutorials, other types of teaching activities, and supervision of honours and
postgraduate students, and is expected to perform a range of administrative and service functions within
the College and across the University.***

**About the Work Area**

The College of Arts, Business, Law and Social Sciences was formed in January 2019 from an
amalgamation of the Schools of Business and Governance, Arts and Law. The combination of these
individually strong areas will foster cross-disciplinary academic expertise and innovative multidisciplinary
approaches to research and teaching.

**Key Responsibilities / Duties**

Contribute meaningfully to the College, University, Discipline and profession through teaching, research
and service, as follows:
1. Design and coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate units, ensuring they meet the teaching and

learning plans of the School.

2. Prepare and deliver classes in a range of face-to-face, online and blended modes, such as lectures,
tutorials, seminars, practical classes, and student field excursions.

3. Mark and moderate assessment, provide prompt and meaningful feedback to students, and return
final unit marks to the University prior to all due dates.

4. Participate in curriculum review and renewal at the School and College levels.

5. Develop and practice innovative teaching and learning methods.

6. Supervise honours and/or postgraduate research from proposal to examination; examine honours
and/or postgraduate research theses.

7. Consult with and provide advice to undergraduate, postgraduate and HDR students.

8. Engage in independent research to produce quality outcomes that are reportable to ERA (or that
achieve comparable recognition).

9. Serve on College and University committees.

10. Achieve impact through engagement with industry, community, government, media and/or higher
- education organisations.

11. Undertake broad administrative functions

12. Participate in the University's Academic Contribution Development Review (ACDR).

13. Undertake such other duties as determined by the Head of School.
