**The Role**
As a Instrument and Control Technician you will be a member of an experienced, highly skilled and flexible team responsible for maintaining the reliability of instrumentation, control and computer systems at Eraring Power Station.
You will provide a range of technical and engineering services to meet Eraring's Business Plan and performance objectives, including Engineering projects, Specialist engineering, and Technical investigations. These are directed at Power Station operation and maintenance, and the management of plant assets, involving fault finding, investigation, repair of defects, testing, modifications, routine maintenance, and interpretation and advice on plant performance improvement and reliability.
**In this role you will**:
- Take responsibility for or supervise fault finding; repair; improving and carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance; and designing, modifying and implementing updates to various systems
- Perform duties so as to maintain maximum availability of revenue producing plant and auxiliaries in a manner without compromising personnel and plant safety or life expectancy of the equipment
- Keep abreast of new technology developments and their practical implementation at Eraring Power Station
- Train staff on new and existing control, instrumentation, computer and protective systems
- Execute routine maintenance in accordance with Technical Support section requirements and advise Technical Support section of changes considered appropriate.
**About You**
You have a relevant background, have completed an electrical trades course, and have an Electrical Supervisor or Contractors License. You have a strong analytical and technical interpretive capability
with strong and demonstrable problem solving and fault-finding skills and a safety-first mindset. Ideally, you will have experience working in power stations.
You will also have:
- Knowledge of plant systems and associated procedures, standards and regulations
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of technical and operational awareness
- A demonstrated commitment to safety & the environment and ability to implement and promote safety and a risk management approach within the team
- Ability to be innovative and to display good communication skills
- Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control or the willingness to obtain either qualification
