We are currently seeking a Conference & Events Manager to join our team with the objective to continue our Award-winning successes in making Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (CWS) the premier events destination for the Southern Gold Coast region. Leading the department, you will focus on the acquisition, co-ordination and delivery of event bookings at CWS. We are looking for a multi-skilled professional who has genuine experience in to design a memorable client experience and maximise revenue opportunities. You will be responsible for enabling delivery of high quality, diverse event experiences within a unique natural environment comprising both indoor and beautiful, natural outdoor event spaces.

This is a permanent salaried position with your workday dependent on the business needs. Weekend and night work will be required therefore flexibility is essential. You must have availability to work over school holiday and public holiday periods.

**Position details & duties**

This is combination of office-based and a hands-on role with responsibilities including:

- Effectively managing incoming and online event enquiries and assisting with generation of new business.
- Working closely with the MICE Sales Manager to develop and implement sales strategies and plans
- Receive confirmed business from the MICE Sales Manager and provide continuity of care to clients once handed over ensuring effective event co-ordination.
- Develop and deliver end to end event arrangements for internal and external clients.
- Prepare quotations for reactive clients and execute associated sales contracts accordingly.
- Ensure all events logistics and sales targets are achieved.
- Negotiate profitable event packages for clients that address their requirements and exceed their expectations.
- Ensure all events are delivered with high levels of customer service and customer satisfaction whilst maintaining costs within budget.
- Effectively manage existing relationships with key stakeholders and previous clients.
- Work with the Director of Food and Beverage, reporting on financial outcomes, operational targets and budgets, rosters and provide back up support in functions preparation, logistics and operations as required.
- Administer and lead the Events systems (iVvy) and ensure all accounting / record keeping procedures of all client files is done so in keeping with company standards.
- Ensure familiarity and knowledge of the property and current promotions ensuring that all co-workers maintain the same level of knowledge
- Pass on relevant enquiries to the MICE Sales Manager as appropriate.
- Work with the operations team to deliver the event handing the client over to the operations supervisor on the day of the event and being available as required.

**Selection Criteria**:

- You will require at least 3 years' experience working within Function/ Conference/ Banquets operations delivering varied event styles and experiences in a similar role.
- You must be able to demonstrate a high conversion rate of enquiries to sales; effective negotiation skills are essential.
- Be able to demonstrate a high degree of event co-ordination and attention to detail.
- Must have an energetic and driven approach to the role to achieve revenue targets.
- You will have a friendly, engaging and supportive leadership style in line with company values.
- Qualifications in a relevant field of Business, Tourism or Event Management will be highly regarded.
- Current Queensland RSA certification & Driver's license is essential. RMLV is preferred.
- High level of organisational and time management skills essential.
- Excellent written, verbal and telephone communication skills are essential as well as the confidence and ability to deliver effective sales presentations.
- A professional standard of personal presentation is essential.
- Must have flexible availability necessary to deliver successful outcomes for this role.
- High level computer ability with Microsoft Office suite including Excel.
