**About the role**

As an integral member of the GL & Reporting team in the Finance and Property directorate of Uniting, this role is responsible for owning lease maintenance (AASB16), governance over all communities reporting matters, preparing journals, internal property charges, fleet allocations and other financial inputs that produces accurate and timely Financial Statements for the Communities business stream at Uniting.

Leading two direct reports the role will be focussed on team delivery and assisting the Group Accounting Manager in the preparation of information for the month end, year end close and other related information. The role will also be focussed on Revenue recognition and adhoc business queries.

**Key responsibilities**
- Preparation of Month-end Financials to close by the 4th working day of the month.
- All balance sheet reconciliations applicable to the team are completed and reviewed within 5 days after the month end close. Manage any adjustments to be resolved before the next month-end
- Proactively address potential audit findings.
- Ownership of lease maintenance in line with AASB16
- Monthly adhoc related queries.
- All monthly revenue and expense accruals
- Lead all monthly Group BAS calculations and submissions
- Review of yearly, bi-annual, and quarterly acquittals
- Ensure provisions/accruals are based on best estimates and are auditable.
- Manage FAR monthly reporting and preparation of statutory PPE and intangibles note to the financial statements
- Ownership of team development, performance optimisation and recruitment (where relevant)
- Respond effectively to challenges presented to you by your team. Build trust and take responsibility/ accountability for all deliverables mandated to the communities and property team.

**Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualification to bachelor degree level in Finance / Accounting and professional qualification in CPA/CA.
- Additional post-graduate qualifications such as Information Systems, Business Administration or Masters in Finance / Accounting are desirable.

**Skills and experience**
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar Finance role leading teams
- **Must have demonstrated experience working with AASB16 lease maintenance**:

- Proven skills in building new processes and managing transformation to a shared services transaction processing environment, knowledge of best practices and productivity-based approaches to general ledger processing and maintenance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of shared service functions, recharges, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Strong research and analytical skills to in order to investigate compliance matters, variances on the monthly P&L result and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of recharging costs, accruals, and revenue recognition
- Knowledge of Microsoft D365 PowerBI and NomosOne preferred
- Advanced excel skills and experience in modelling using excel is desirable
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems as used in large scale service environments.
- Previous experience in systems automation and procedural documentation highly regarded
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills be organized, systematic, thorough, accurate and disciplined.
- Establish and nurture collaborative relationships based on trust, integrity, respect, and community across Uniting. Ensure service standards are delivered commensurate with agreed expectations
