**Position Objective**

This is a hands-on role to produce and maintain high quality standards of food preparation and service within the controlled cost parameters. Assist with all catering within Brisbane Grammar School contributing to the overall performance of the department. Assisting to the general hygiene and cleanliness of the work area to meet the highest standards.
- Rostered to meet the operational needs.
- Flexibility in starting/ finishing times and days of work due to catering requirements.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Ensure all aspects of the day-to-day operations are technically correct and within established guidelines.
- On job training, multitasking and instruction to hospitality attendants to meet catering demands and scheduling.
- Assist with managing the hospitality attendants, in any development creating a caring, healthy, happy and professional environment.
- Commitment to produce service of the highest quality.
- Be professional and communicate any concerns to the suitable person ASAP to prevent escalation and future incidents.
- Follow established standards and be consistent at what we do.
- Assist with building and leading a strong, customer focused team.
- Actively contribute to a broad service to our customers, clients, and school community.
- Assist with maintaining all food and beverage areas within the school.
- Assist with executing internal and external events at a high quality.
- Be cost conscious and assist with unnecessary waste.
- Regard health and safety of staff and visitors to the school as a priority.
- Attend meetings and participate in training programs when requested.

**Additional Information/Other Functions and Responsibilities**
- Perform duties, also provide assistance and undertake any duties within the role as directed by the Catering Manager.
- Flexibility to work and meet the demands/needs of the catering department.
- Ensure standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety are met.
- Willingness to learn more to improve job and team performance.

**Hours of Work**

This position is **full-time, term-time only (38 weeks per year)**

- Basic food handling knowledge.
- Previous wait staff or hotel experience and customer service principles.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage and hospitality w/ coordinating events internally and externally to the campus.
- Strong supervisory skills.
- Ability to work within a diverse team environment.
- Health and Safety awareness of food and beverage service.
- Ability to maintain good client and staff relationships.
- Experience in management and cost measures.
- Ability to manage workflow demands with staff and processes.
