About the Role

We have multiple opportunities for Operators to join the AGL Macquarie team working at our Bayswater power station. As an Operator you will be a member of our experienced and skilled team operating and maintaining the plant and equipment required to run the power station and power the state of NSW.

Reporting to the Shift Manager you will utilise your skills, qualifications, and extensive power generation experience to undertake administration, maintenance, scheduling and plant operation tasks. You will be responsible for ensuring that all activities are carried out safely and efficiently to achieve the objectives of AGL Macquarie.

Applicants must be available to work a variety of rosters including day and/or night shifts.

What you'll be doing:
- Assist the shift manager and senior staff to safely operate plant and equipment, ensuring applicable plant is operating within approved limits and in compliance with appropriate statutory requirements- Carry out isolation of plant and equipment- Prepare, issue and clear Permits to Work- Collaborate with other, skilled staff in undertaking tasks relevant to the operation and maintenance of plant and equipment- Assist and participate in training and personnel development activities- Conduct routine plant inspections and carry out condition monitoring to ensure continued safe and efficient plant operation- Identify, investigate and prioritise defects and failures, carry out required maintenance where appropriate or escalating for attention- Contribute to hazard identification, emergency procedures and continuous improvement programs

About You

A strong communicator you will have the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders. With a keen eye for detail and an exceptional approach to safety you will be capable of prioritising competing tasks to achieve quality outcomes.

To be successful it is essential that you have:
- Trade or Diploma qualification in either an electrical or mechanical field or Engineering Degree in electrical, mechanical or chemical discipline- A minimum of 3 years experience working in the power generation industry-
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of safe and efficient operation within the power generation industry- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices, environmental responsibilities and a strong workplace safety culture- Full drivers licence and reliable transport

- Site based training in both our foundation course and unit school are required for. To maintain employment you must successfully complete all training within scheduled timeframes- As part of the recruitment process there will be aptitude testing and assessments conducted- A full medical along background checks will be required
