**About The Company**

Our client, Department of Transport and Main Roads is responsible for planning, managing and delivering Queensland's integrated transport environment to achieve sustainable transport solutions for road, rail, air and sea.

**About The Opportunity**

The purpose of this position is to contribute to the efficient delivery of the North Coast Region's Queensland Transport and Roads Infrastructure Program (QTRIP) by providing strategic communication services to technical and professional staff for community engagement, stakeholder relationship management, issues management, public affairs and media relations.

There will be a requirement to travel to the construction site office located at Elimbah, initially two days per week.

You will also be expected to play an active role in other key QTRIP projects and activities as assigned across the region.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Coordinate community engagement for the project, and other allocated QTRIP activities.
- Develop strategies for stakeholder and issue management and consult with a wide range of interest groups.
- Assist in providing communication advice and support to the Project Manager, Regional Director, Deputy Regional Director, Senior Communications Advisor (Significant Projects) and other regional staff in the areas of community engagement and communication strategies, risk assessment, issues management and media relations using appropriate communication tools.
- Manage the preparation of communications materials, including researching and writing media releases, ministerial briefings, newsletters, web enquiries, flyers, display materials, speech notes while adhering to all departmental and public governance framework requirements.
- Manage and coordinate the preparation, review, approval and distribution of project related executive correspondence for the region.
- Develop, plan and manage key communication activities such as displays, expos, career markets, road commissioning's, launches, media opportunities and other events as required for the project and other QTRIP related activities.

This position reports to the Senior Communications Advisor (Significant Projects).
