Our opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Analyst to join our Sydney Team. Mirvac has expanded its Funds Management business with the recent addition of the Mirvac Wholesale Office Fund (MWOF). This role will focus on implementing the Risk Group's compliance strategy, primarily AFSL and Managed Investment Scheme compliance activities.

Your role will include assessing, evaluating, updating and developing compliance plans, policies and procedures to support the successful integration of MWOF to meet financial services compliance obligations. This role will also have the opportunity to support the Senior Compliance Manager to drive design and delivery of our compliance framework with applicable laws, regulations, company policies and corporate governance expectations across the broader diversified business to enhance the effectiveness of Mirvac's risk management and compliance framework

Your responsibilities are but not limited to;
Management and implementation of the Mirvac Group compliance framework for Managed Investment Schemes, Australian Financial Services Licensing (AFSL) and AML/CTF program for Mirvac Group and its funds (in particular, MWOF).
Identify and document compliance obligations and implement controls to ensure ongoing compliance with those obligations and test the effectiveness of such controls.
Provide regulatory compliance advice in relation to AFSL, Corporate Governance, Privacy, AML/CTF Legislations, Energy Regulations, Real Estate Licensing and Construction Licensing.
Develop, implement and maintain relevant compliance policies. Assist in the regular review of those policies, where relevant, and ensure they remain adequate for the business.
Monitor compliance with fiduciary obligations, compliance obligations, internal policies and guidelines and external legislative requirements relevant to the business. Including assisting in the management of actual or perceived conflicts between Mirvac and the funds.
Conduct in-depth operational reviews to confirm compliance with the various processes referred to throughout the Compliance Plans and to verify reporting made during compliance reviews.
Undertake KYC/OCDD checks required under the AML/CTF legislation and maintain AML/CTF program.
Incident and breach management; documenting incidents and performing root cause analysis including assessing design effectiveness of controls, identifying actions to mitigate ongoing risks and enhance controls, monitoring the business has implemented the documented remediation actions to enable closure of incidents.
Maintain regulatory registers e.g. registers for conflicts, breaches & incidents, issues and complaints.
Support the compliance reporting process for boards, management, and investment committees.
Refresh compliance training programs including identifying any training gaps and co-ordinate delivery of the program.
Monitor changes to the regulatory compliance legislative framework and conduct gap analysis to advise, plan and implement changes to the compliance framework and partner with the business to maintain compliance.
Work effectively as a member of a team providing a high level of customer services to both internal and external customers.
Co-ordinate and liaise with external auditors in relation to the trustees AFSL and fund's Compliance Plan.

Your point of difference

Moderate experience in a compliance role, likely to come from a property, construction, resources, utilities, investment banking, law or financial services organisation.
Tertiary qualifications in a business or legal discipline and funds Management product experience
Analytical skills, with the ability to dissect and articulate the key issues
Ability to interpret relevant regulatory legislation
Knowledge of political and economic structures
Structured thinker, with ability to manage to deadlines, handle ambiguity and conflicting priorities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
