Overview
KBR is expanding our transport infrastructure presence in South Australia, and we're looking for an experienced
Principal Roads Engineer
to lead this growth. This is more than a technical role — it's a strategic opportunity to build a team, shape our market offering, and establish yourself as a future leader of our transport business in Adelaide.
As part of our Civil Infrastructure team, you will play a central role in developing local capability, fostering client relationships, and delivering complex and high-profile road and highway projects. We\u2019re seeking someone with strong market insight, excellent industry connections, and a proven ability to lead and inspire teams.
Responsibilities
Build and lead a high-performing Adelaide-based transport team, mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Deliver major roads and highways projects from concept to detailed design.
Leverage your market knowledge and network to help grow our business across South Australia.
Provide strategic and technical leadership across multidisciplinary project teams.
Oversee project operations including quality assurance, risk mitigation, and cost control.
Collaborate with clients, government bodies (including DIT), and stakeholders to deliver integrated and innovative solutions.
Champion digital engineering practices including 12D modelling, BIM integration, and ProjectWise coordination.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
Strong local industry knowledge and established networks in the South Australian transport sector.
Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
Proven success in delivering large-scale roads and highways infrastructure projects.
Expertise in 12D, AutoCAD, and comprehensive understanding of Austroads and DIT standards.
A collaborative, commercially minded professional with a passion for growing a business.
