Database Administrator We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to provide enterprise-level support for our mission-critical database systems.
This senior role is integral to the team and demands strong technical expertise, proactive ownership, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service every time.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate effectively with the team to ensure service levels (SLA) are consistently met.Take ownership of incidents, problems, and service requests, ensuring timely resolution.Participate in an on-call roster to provide 24x7 database support.Perform technical problem-solving, root cause analysis, and proactive performance tuning.Manage and deliver assigned tasks, changes, incidents, and problem records with accountability.Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot database performance issues to maintain optimal system health.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in database support and operations.Required Skills & ExperienceMinimum 8 years' DBA experience with enterprise-grade database systems.Proven hands-on expertise in IBM Informix (administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, upgrades).
Strong knowledge of database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (HA/DR) strategies.Proficiency in SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.Understanding of operating systems (Linux/Unix/Windows) and their impact on database performance.Experience with database monitoring tools and proactive capacity/performance management.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently under pressure.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-first mindset.Demonstrated experience in working within ITIL/incident & problem management frameworks.Ability to collaborate across teams while also functioning as a technical lead when required.
