About The Role & Location

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced HSE Monitoring Technicians for opportunities at our Cataby operation.

The Cataby mining operation is located near the Town of Dandaragan, approximately 150 kilometres north of Perth. This position is offered on a Drive in Drive out (DIDO) basis, on a family-friendly 8/6 roster.

Reporting directly to the Environmental & Community Relations Superintendent, the key aspect of this role is to assist in the development and completion of HSE monitoring programs to ensure compliance with Iluka's HSE systems and statutory legislation obligations.

Key elements of the role include:
- Environmental and occupational environmental water monitoring (potable water, surface water, waste water and groundwater monitoring)- Environmental and occupational dust, radiation and noise monitoring- Management of monitoring data, including collation, analysis and reporting- Management and maintenance of monitoring equipment- Soil sampling for acid sulphate soils- Assisting with flora and fauna assessments- Assisting Radiation Safety Officer and Occupational Hygienist with compliance sampling and reporting- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and company environmental, health and safety procedures- Active promotion of environment and safety awareness amongst Iluka and contract personnel

About You

To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Certificate or Diploma in Laboratory Practices, Hygiene or Environmental Monitoring- Ability to plan and prioritise tasks effectively ensuring completion of all statutory monitoring on schedule- Mine Air Quality and/or Noise Officer qualifications- Ability to interpret raw monitoring data and formulate an appropriate response in the field where required- Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain laboratory and field instruments required for OHS and environmental monitoring/data collection- Skills and experience with radiation and/or occupational health & hygiene monitoring- RePL (preferred)
