Join to apply for the Civil Maintenance Labourer role at Illawarra Mercury1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the Civil Maintenance Labourer role at Illawarra MercuryPermanent full-time roleKiama Council is committed to promoting diversity and fostering inclusion.Permanent full-time roleKiama Council is committed to promoting diversity and fostering inclusion.We currently have an opportunity for a Civil Maintenance Labourer to join our team.In the role of Civil Maintenance Labourer, you will assist with the full range of civil maintenance and construction activities across the municipality in a safe and efficient manner.This Will InvolveLiaising with the Team Leader to ensure civil maintenance works are planned and coordinated as requiredConducting general maintenance works on the Council's road network to identify and rectify defectsInstalling and maintaining signage across the road network and other Council areasUndertaking painting and line marking of roads and footpathsInstalling & maintaining various stormwater infrastructure componentsCarrying out the general maintenance to various council assetsUndertaking traffic control in accordance with Council's policiesWorking in accordance with relevant Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
What We Offer...Permanent full-time role, nine-day working fortnight equating to a 38-hour weekCommencing annual salary from $57,976 to $63,919 (salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience)Progressive annual salary up to $70,471Plus 12 % superannuationPayment of licenses, tickets and courses essential for your roleAccess to the Fitness Passport and Employee Assistance Programs for yourself and your immediate familyTwo paid health and wellbeing days each year.What You'll Need To Be Successful In The Role...It's essential that you have the following:Minimum Class C Drivers LicenceWHS construction induction white cardSafe Work NSW Traffic Controller - TCSafe Work NSW Implement Traffic Control Plan – IMPIt would also be beneficial to have any of the following:MR Drivers LicenceLevel 1 Chainsaw Operator's CertificateChemCert CertificateSafe Work NSW Prepare a Work zone Traffic Management Plan – PWRecent Civil Maintenance & Construction Experience.Pre-Employment ChecksYour employment will be subject to a pre-employment medical, national criminal record check and verification checks to determine your suitability for employment.All employees and other workers must uphold and promote safety and wellbeing for children and young people.A merit list may be created for any roles that arise within the next six months.
