Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy. Snowy 2.0 is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
An exciting opportunity exists for a Contracts Manager to join Snowy Hydro on a full time, permanent basis to develop, manage and improve key major overhaul contracts. This role will also see you working with key stakeholders to provide end to end contract services including developing contract scopes and tender schedules and managing contractor performance in accordance with Snowy Hydro's policies. This role will see you supporting contract delivery across Major Overhaul scopes to contribute to the Scheme's long term profitability. We offer flexibility between working from home and from our Snowy Hydro offices, with occasional visits to regional hydro sites and vendor/suppliers as required.
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
Managing the tendering process for key contracts for the Major Overhauls teams, whilst providing support and guidance on contract related policies
Providing Contract reporting on key performance and financial metrics and support the execution of key contract deliverables
Developing, implementing and maintaining procurement and contract management policies and procedures that include all aspects of contract, contractor and end user activities and responsibilities
Managing all offsite repair, refurbishment and manufacture of plant components, including critical and rotable spares.
Providing leadership through coaching and demonstrating SHL values and behaviours, high quality Contract Management skills and commercial acumen
Providing a high level of customer service to stakeholders by creating strong working relationships, maintaining a business focus and demonstrating responsibility
In addition to the above, our ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in contract management including demonstrated experience in developing the full range of contractual arrangements within heavy industry
Experience in successful commercial negotiations and a track record of safety improvements
High level of communication and negotiation skills, including strong people management abilities
Highly developed data entry, technical and process improvement skills
Ability to prioritise in a constantly changing environment and to meet agreed deadlines
