The Embedded Design Engineer is responsible for embedded circuit design and programming to ensure functionality consistent with design specifications.
The role primarily includes embedded development and also includes some software development of test programs and utilities.
This is an on-site position in Lowell, MA.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesDesign of embedded hardware for new computer peripheral products.Design and coding of firmware & software.Leading code and design reviewsInterpreting product requirement documents and creating new and derivative products in a fast-paced design cycle.Participating in multiple concurrent design projects in support of the engineering schedule.Contribute to the technical support of existing products as needed by manufacturing, service, sales, and the customer.Support continuous process improvements to the design and development of products to decrease time to market and increase reliability and manufacturability.Conduct F/W & S/W regression, integration, verification and validation testing.Managing projects and participation in customer meetings as neededPerform and support qualification testingSupport other staff in areas of expertiseOther technical projects as identifiedOther Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will have demonstrated aptitude in:Programming of PIC microcontroller-based productsProgramming of USB and other serial communications.Firmware logic block diagrams and architectureReading, writing and debugging firmware and software in C, C#, and other languages.Report writing and documentationPlease note that this position will be dedicated to working with customers operating under U.S. export control rules (including ITAR).
