Animal Emergency Service (AES) is one of Australia's leading emergency and critical care referral centres. We deliver world class emergency veterinary medicine and gold standard patient care. Our 24/7 Hobart clinic is always bustling with exciting cases and an energetic atmosphere. We're seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to support the leadership and day-to-day coordination of our growing Veterinary Nursing team.
This is a permanent part-time role (approximately 30 hours per week) and is ideal for an experienced nurse or team leader looking to step into a supportive leadership position.

**What does a day in the life look like?**
- Work closely with the Nurse Manager to support and guide the nursing team so they love and thrive in their roles
- Assist with coordinating rosters and ensuring adequate staffing levels
- Help implement and promote company policies and a positive team culture
- Assist in managing workplace issues, conflict resolution, and team wellbeing initiatives
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new nurses
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including Workplace Health & Safety requirements
- Contribute ideas for process improvement and help drive team engagement

**About You**
- Previous experience in a veterinary nursing leadership or senior nursing role
- Veterinary Nursing qualifications
- A supportive leadership style, with the ability to motivate and mentor others
- Thrives on delivering exceptional patient and client care
- Strong communication skills, especially in high-pressure situations
- High attention to detail with a focus on teamwork and collaboration
- Flexible to work afterhours shifts when needed
