About Children's Ground
Children's Ground is a First Nations organisation. The Children's Ground Approach is designed and delivered through the leadership of First Nations people. We are committed to systems change to ensure dignity, justice and equity for all children and families. Our work focuses on national reform as well as evidencing a new way of working.
The Children's Ground Approach is a whole of community, whole of life approach. We privilege First Nations knowledge systems and practice. Over the course of a generation, led by local expertise, we create and deliver an integrated system that is centred on learning, development and wellbeing that responds to the child and their family through the key transition points from pre-birth to young adulthood.
Our approach recognises the cultural, social, and economic strength of our communities. We build on this over a generation to ensure a future for our children and grandchildren that gives them freedom, opportunity and rights to their culture and identity.
Children's Ground operates in Central Australia and across the Top End, with support provided by a Melbourne-based Shared Services team.
About You
To be successful in the role you will need strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills for providing advice and solving issues. You will need good attention to detail and want to work for an organisation that is enhancing and improving the outcomes for First Nations people. You will be confident using MS Office and online systems and be willing to support wherever needed.
About The Role
This is a key role working on programs that remove the barriers to meaningful employment for First Nations people. The aim is to support more First Nations people on the pathway to employment, strengthening their skills, financial literacy and supporting/addressing any of the barriers. It will encompass both pre and post employment support including compliance, onboarding and on the job training. The role would suit someone with strong administration skills who has worked on HR systems, data systems or CDP employment programs.
Key Responsibilities
Support a pre and early employment program that has a focus on compliance and on the job training (Police Checks, OCHRE Working with Children Clearances, onboarding support, basic IT/systems support, time sheeting, Centrelink reporting, collection of ID)
Contribute to the development and maintenance of support structures that are relevant and responsive within the workplace
Assist to organise and deliver 2 literacy workshops each year, supporting the Financial Literacy Officer
