Edith Cowan University (ECU) is one of only two federal government recognized Academic Centres of Cyber Security Excellence in Australia. ECU is home to the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre (CSCRC), established with academic, government and industry partners attracting around $140m of funding. The ECU Security Research Institute (ECUSRI) is an internationally recognized leader in multidisciplinary security science research, housed in a purpose-built world class cyber security research and training facility. ECU is looking for to appoint an outstanding post-doctoral researcher to contribute to applied research projects funded though the CSCRC.

Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre (CSCRC)
The CSCRC has been funded for 7 years by the Commonwealth Government's Cooperative Research Centres Program and has also attracted significant funding from its participants. The CSCRC is an industry-driven collaboration to create and enhance Australian cyber security capability. The CSCRC has 25 participants which includes 19 industry/government entities and 6 universities and fosters collaboration with industry, academia, and government to deliver collaborative research outcomes articulated by industry and government.

ECU is recruiting for a Post-Doctoral Researchers to contribute to our Cyber For Boards and Gamification for Executive Education program (1 Position, fixed-term project up to 24 month).

This position is contributing to two CSCRC Collaborative projects led by CSIRO's Data61. The Gamification for Executive Education is an applied project that uses gamification to raise cybersecurity awareness and literacy of Directors of Company Boards and Senior Executives to ensure that cybersecurity has strong and able leadership from the very top of Australia's organisations. The focus of this project is on generating impact and cultural change within Australia and the region and will require collaboration and work with senior leaders across Australia. The Cyber For Boards project is developing tools and techniques for Directors and Executives to devise and implement an effective cybersecurity strategy. The project is supported by thought leaders in this field (BAE DI, ACSC and AICD) and will take a design thinking approach to the development of board-level cybersecurity strategy explored and validated through focus groups with senior leaders across Australia. Research expertise is sought in Cybersecurity Education, Experiential Learning, Gamification, Cybersecurity Awareness, Corporate Governance, Cybersecurity Strategy, Design Science.

A PhD in a relevant discipline area, e.g., Cyber Security, Computer Security, Computer Science.

Conduct research and development on the assigned project(s) as a member of an interdisciplinary project team.

High level communications and engagement skills.

Advice within the field of research to post-graduate students in consultation with the senior researcher

This position is fixed-term appointments with an expected project period of 24 months and are supported by external funding from the Commonwealth Government's Cooperative Research Centre's Program. If the project or funding arrangements end earlier this may impact the term of the employment contract, including termination of employment.
