An opportunity exists for a Student Engagement Teacher to join Ipswich West State School.
This opportunity is for a teacher seeking to enhance their leadership skills by:
- Working with a supportive and collaborative leadership team.
- Engaging in a school community that values inclusivity and a positive school culture.
- Bringing to the school community their talents and skills.
- Collaborating with staff and planning school events.
This is an important role in leading the school's PBL program, liaising with external agencies, families and supporting all staff with positive behaviour strategies. Engagement of all students is a key priority with an emphasis on equity and excellence, behaviour support, attendance monitoring and implementing staff and student wellbeing strategies. The role reports to the Principal.
The school is looking for an energetic, passionate and influential teacher leader who can:
- Provide a strategic approach to encourage all PBL and student engagement endeavours which complement the school's existing positive school culture.
- Develop the capacity of teachers to engage with evidence-based strategies and approaches to manage student behaviour.
- Tracking student attendance, contacting families and providing support to ensure students are at school.
- Liaise with external agencies (for example, indigenous support agencies) to support new arrivals and their families through integrating them into the new environment, and incorporating the holistic needs of new students including academic, social and emotional.
- Role-model exceptional professional practices for optimal student learning and wellbeing and be a collaborative and active member of the leadership team.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and strategic skills to organise and lead school special events.
