Caledonia WA Pty Ltd (part of the Caledonia Group) is looking for this role to be based in our Gnangara office, regional and interstate travel will be required.

**The Role**:
As our Scaffolding Safety Inspector you will be responsible for:

- Inspect and assesses the condition of the scaffolding material and propriety systems that are supplied to ensure compliance with safety standards and serviceability, on an on-going basis.
- Inspect work site to ensure compliance with government industry standards and regulations, provide advice on the suitability of specialised scaffolds supplied by contracting companies about the functionality of the scaffold to meet the health and safety requirements of the Client with regard to design and access in case of plant upset conditions.
- Ensure that the requirements of the general Client permit procedures relevant to scaffold erection are met and, so act as the performing authority in this context.
- Identify health and safety issues and concerns and initiate corrective actions
- Assisting in conduction of safety meetings and campaigns, and organising training in general safety principles in keeping with regulations
- Observe whether employees are adhering to scaffolding work instructions for the management of combustible and hazardous materials and that they are used and stored in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Liaising with Client and Project HSE Advisor to ensure compliance with health and safety legislative requirements including
- Conducting Gas tests in work areas to detect toxic fumes, explosive gas-air mixtures and other work hazards where scaffolding is being erected
- Ensure Scaffolding safety equipment such as harnesses, and ancillary equipment conform to standards
- A relevant Diploma with at least 2 years of relevant experience OR at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- On and off shore oil and gas experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of QA systems and processes
- Training in integrated management systems based on ISI 9001, ISO 14001
- Effective written communications skills including the ability to prepare reports, proposals, policies and procedures
- Previous Supervisory Experience (Leading Hand, Supervisor)
- Have a current Advanced Scaffolders Ticket
- OHS accredited training

**The Opportunity**:
This is a full-time contract in Perth and Regional WA. In addition to this role, Caledonia has maintenance contracts and project work (industrial, commercial, infrastructure) right across the country.

Given you will be on a working mine site, a full medical and comprehensive induction is required.
