**Position Information**:
Toongabbie East Public School is a small metropolitan school set back from main highways and bordered by the Toongabbie Creek, which provides a rural-like feel to the school. Currently there are 106 students enrolled who come from diverse cultural backgrounds. 30% of students are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 65% are from a background where English is an additional dialect. There is a commitment to providing quality educational programs from a dedicated and supportive school staff. Our school is focussed on high expectations and continual improvement.

At Toongabbie East Public School, we believe every child should be continually improving in a high expectations environment that encompasses a collaborative, holistic, multi-dimensional approach to implementing evidence-based change that both challenges and supports individual student growth. Our vision is to empower students to acquire, demonstrate, articulate and value knowledge and skills that will support them, as life-long learners, to participate in and contribute positively to society.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Approval to teach infants and primary (K-6) with a demonstrated ability to deliver evidence-based, innovative and differentiated literacy and numeracy programs to meet the needs of all students.
- Evidence of implementing strong classroom management strategies and wellbeing practices including trauma-informed positive education strategies with the ability to develop an inclusive learning environment that promotes high levels of engagement, individualised success and supports student welfare and the wellbeing of students from diverse backgrounds.
- Highly developed organisational, interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative partnerships with staff, students, families and the wider community.
- Experience and / or willingness to co-ordinate and implement school initiatives including student leadership, and creative arts to strengthen school culture, student wellbeing and a sense of community.
- Commitment to and understanding of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education and demonstrated ability to authentically embed Aboriginal perspectives into teaching and learning programs to support positive and successful outcomes for first nations students.
