**Position Title: Food & Beverage Attendant (Café)**

Reports To: Operations Manager, Head Chef

Purpose: Responsible for the providing food and beverage service to cafe patrons.

**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**

**1.0 Service**
- Take orders from guests and maximize sales opportunities through knowledge of product and suggestive selling. Ensure accuracy by repeating orders back to guests.
- Check ordered meals/beverages prior to delivery to customers and ensure delivery is prompt to maintain temperature and appearance. Announce items to guests on delivery.
- Keep tables and service areas clean and tidy at all times.
- Assist in functions or special and cultural events e.g. Christmas, ANZAC & Australia Day, Easter etc as required.
- Ensure cracked, chipped or broken dishes are disposed of appropriately.
- Continually monitor equipment supplies (crockery, utensils, cleaning products etc) to ensure adequate levels are maintained within serveries. Notify management when supplies need to be replenished.

**2.0 Hygiene, Quality and Food Safety**
- Conduct work in accordance with hygiene, quality and food safety requirements at all times. - Ensure food is transferred in a safe and hygienic manner. - Maintain regular cleaning of all equipment and work areas (kitchen, servery and dining rooms) to ensure compliance to health and hygiene regulations. - Maintain vermin free areas by ensuring that food is in sealed in containers and stored appropriately and that cleanliness is kept to a high standard.
- Raise (or promptly resolve where appropriate) quality and food safety matters with management with minimum delay.

**3.0 People and performance**
- Conduct work in accordance with Aged Care Quality Standards and Principles, the Model of care and other Company policies and procedures at all times.
- Actively participate in forums, training programs and education as directed by the company and ensure all mandatory training modules are completed in accordance with required timelines.
- Participate in new staff orientation activities and provide on-the-job training as required.

**4.0 Workplace, Health & Safety**
- Conduct work in a safe manner ensuring the safety of self, residents, other staff, and the general public by strict adherence to infection control standards and WHS policies and procedures i.e. Manual Handling, PPE etc.
- Ensure all equipment and aids are kept in good working order and used only for the purpose for which it was intended.
- Use and store all cleaning and/or chemical supplies in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
- Identify and raise risk management and WHS issues on an on-going basis in relation to area of responsibility to ensure that incidents, maintenance issues, losses and breakages are reported in accordance with reporting procedures.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Previous experience working as a Food & Beverage Attendant, ideally within a café environment.
- Current police check. - Valid working rights.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20-30 per week

**Salary**: $21.70 - $37.37 per hour
