Join to apply for the Trainee Ophthalmic Technician role at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cataract suite at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital as a Trainee Band 4 Ophthalmic Technician supporting doctors within Cataract and corneal clinics.
Following the successful completion of Ophthalmic competencies, there will be progression to a Band 5 Ophthalmic Technician post.Main duties of the job:Undertaking a variety of skills including pre-assessing patients and ensuring they are fit for surgery.Performing Biometry using IOL Master and/or A Scan, corneal topography.Entering postoperative refraction data for patients.Working closely with Clinicians and Optometrists within the community.Testing patients' visual acuity, checking intra-ocular pressures, performing Optical Coherence Tomography.Join us at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust:We are committed to providing high-quality, safe care in an environment our staff are proud to work in.
