Job DescriptionPurpose of your roleThe Senior Software Engineer role is responsible for delivering high-quality code in a timely manner while leading and working with engineering managers to design solutions as appropriate.
Working in an agile environment, you will provide technical leadership and expertise, supporting the delivery of quality software.
The Senior Software Engineer will actively contribute to the continuous improvement of technical delivery and agile processes, positively influencing team dynamics and technical standards.The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality application, automation, and testing code according to industry best practices and OFX guidelines.Where required, the Software Engineer will take on technical leadership on tasks by acting as a technical lead.What you doCollaborate closely with tech leads and engineering managers to improve coding practices, deliver code, and participate in code reviews.Ensure code efficiency and adherence to OFX coding standards and industry best practices.Promote a collaborative working environment to evolve team capability and expertise.Identify complex code areas needing refactoring or addressing technical debt.Assist outside of core skills in deployments, QA, and Level 3 support as part of an agile team.Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching within the product development team.Participate in design reviews and proof of concepts.Maintain clear communication with stakeholders.QualificationsWhat you bringExtensive experience in commercial software development.Strong knowledge of web technologies: HTML / CSS.Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries: React.js, TypeScript, Node.js, C#.
Experience with AWS solutions, including CDK, Lambdas, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and EventBridge.Familiarity with Agile development practices such as TDD, Kanban, and Shift Left.Proficiency in writing scalable, reusable UI components with tests.Application, memory, and database profiling experience.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience with unit testing and acceptance criteria frameworks.Knowledge of application architectures, frameworks, and web-based, service-oriented applications.Experience designing and working with RESTful APIs and data modeling.Experience with Git and GitHub for distributed source control.Desirable ExperienceExperience with containers like Docker.Knowledge of CI/CD and configuration management.Experience with Design Language Systems and API management tools such as Apigee.Additional InformationWhat it's like working at OFXWe're OFXers because we want to make a difference.
