As the Senior Manager, Line 1 Risk - People & Culture (P&C) and Group Risk, you will be at the heart of our risk management activities within the first line of defence.
This role is about supporting the Head of Line 1 Risk, Group Functions, and driving a proactive risk culture across our division.
You will help enhance our ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring that our risk management frameworks and strategies are integrated into business operations, strengthening the control environment, improving our risk position, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Additionally, you will promote innovative risk management solutions that align with BOQ''s strategic direction and growth objectives.
This role involves close collaboration with internal teams, including leadership teams, heads of business units, Group Risk, Group Compliance, and Internal Audit, as well as external regulatory bodies and auditors.
Responsibilities
Support the Head of Line 1 Risk, Group Functions, and drive a proactive risk culture across the division.
Enhance the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks; ensure risk management frameworks and strategies are integrated into business operations.
Strengthen the control environment, improve the risk position, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Promote innovative risk management solutions aligned with BOQ''s strategic direction and growth objectives.
Collaborate with internal teams (leadership teams, heads of business units, Group Risk, Group Compliance, Internal Audit) and external regulatory bodies and auditors.
Deliver risk governance activities, including development of key risk indicators (KRIs) and Line 1 Risk reporting to the Finance Risk Committee – specifically for the P&C and Group Risk Divisions.
Lead and motivate a Risk Specialist team; provide pragmatic risk advice and risk insights to support the business in reducing complexity and risk.
About You
Strong background in risk management, ideally across the P&C and/or Group Risk landscape and in a leadership position, leading Risk Specialist teams.
Proven track record developing and implementing risk management frameworks, particularly within the financial services industry with a focus on P&C and/or Group Risk.
Ability to provide pragmatic risk advice, deliver risk insights, and support the business in reducing complexity and risk; adept at managing and advising on risk management strategies, frameworks, and standards to ensure risks, obligations, and control designs meet requirements.
Experience delivering risk governance activities, including KRIs and risk reporting to senior committees.
Strong logical reasoning, attention to detail, exceptional communication, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
