A leading Tier 2 Building Contractor has appointed us to source a HSE Manager / Health & Safety Manager for their WA business. Behind this flexible working company culture is a very stable, financially strong and experienced building contractor with some very unique and unusual projects in hand.

Typical projects include office, defence, health, aged care and education with project values $5 - 50m across the Perth metro. This company will certainly provide you with a flexible working environment to ensure you get a good work-life balance.

As the HSE Manager / Health & Safety Manager your duties include:

- Identify and implement improvements to comply with legislation, prevailing codes and their Integrated Management System to ensure ongoing accreditation of our OH&S, and EMS platform
- Support site-specific workplace health and safety plans, safe work method statements across the business. Ensure business sites comply with industry, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations
- Provide operational advice and mentoring on HSE obligations and duties
- Update company safety policies, evacuation plans, organising dry runs and coordinating chemical waste management
- Investigate any arising accidents, incidents, near misses to discover causes and recommend solutions
- Manage medicals assessments, workers compensation and return to work
- Audit and facilitate improvements in compliance of prevailing standards and/or codes
- Create and update safety procedures, risk assessments, and training materials for different hazards and safety issues
- Undertake WHS Committee meetings, leadership of 4 HSE Officers
- Manage HSE metrics and reporting
- Manage the drug and alcohol testing program

You must demonstrate the following criteria:

- 5+ years construction industry and blue-collar environment experience
- 4+ years working as a HSE Manager / Health & Safety Manager
- Cert IV or Diploma in Safety / OHS
- Thorough understanding of WA State Legislation
- The Right to work in Australia and be based in Perth or enroute
