Job DescriptionLocation: Canberra, ACTClearance: Must have NV1 clearance7.5 hours per dayPosition OverviewOur office is currently undertaking a transition of ICT services from an internally managed model to a shared services arrangement with another government department.
We are seeking a highly experienced and committed Project Manager with a strong track record in delivering successful ICT projects—particularly within the public sector—to lead and facilitate this transition.This role will also provide both technical and managerial support to our internal ICT team, which currently consists of four full-time staff.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a comprehensive ICT strategy aligned with the agency's business objectives.Lead the transition of ICT services to the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS), ensuring service continuity, value for money, and a fit-for-purpose solution.Provide strategic and practical advice to internal stakeholdersEngage with business leaders to understand their technology needs and ensure these are addressed throughout the transition process.Build and maintain strong working relationships between OOSGG and DPS, including managing contracts and service agreements.Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, offering guidance on broader technology matters.Ensure the security, reliability, and integrity of the agency's IT systems and data, including risk mitigation and protection of sensitive information.Oversee day-to-day ICT operations, including staff supervision, budget management, and resource allocation.RequirementsSelection CriteriaApplicants must submit a one-page pitch (up to 5000 characters) addressing the following essential criteria:Financial Management – SFIA Level 4Demonstrated ability to maintain financial records in line with compliance and audit requirements.
Experience in identifying and calculating costs for services, projects, and components to support financial planning and reporting.Project Management – SFIA Level 5Proven experience in leading medium-scale ICT projects, including project definition, planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
Ability to manage change control, ensure quality assurance, and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes and budgets.StakeholderRelationship Management – SFIA Level 5Strong capability in identifying stakeholder needs, translating engagement strategies into actionable plans, and facilitating open communication.
Experience acting as a single point of contact, supporting decision-making, and sharing technical and business insights effectively.RequirementsShared service Project Manager
