We're a newly opened Sri Lankan restaurant in Northcote, looking for a reliable and energetic Kitchen Coordinator with experience who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who enjoys staying active, working under pressure, and being part of a dynamic team. You'll be at the heart of our kitchen operations, ensuring the smooth flow of food orders while maintaining quality and cleanliness. Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate food orders from the kitchen pass to ensure accuracy and timely service - Tick off items on order dockets and communicate clearly with both kitchen and front-of-house staff - Ensure plated dishes meet quality and presentation standards before they go out - Wash dishes, kitchen utensils, and equipment throughout service - Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the kitchen and dish area - Assist with basic food prep and other kitchen duties as needed - Take out rubbish and assist with stock rotation and deliveries - Support a smooth kitchen workflow and jump in wherever needed during peak hours What We're Looking For: - Must have prior experience working in a commercial kitchen or similar fast-paced environment - Strong multitasking and communication skills - High attention to detail and a strong work ethic - Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a team - A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to take initiative - Someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and thrives under pressure - Availability to work weeknights and weekend nights
