OverviewDaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to float and serve our patients based out of the Navarre Dialysis Center in Navarre, OH.
This teammate will float to other clinics within the greater Canton, Ohio region including Dover, Wooster, Massillon, Alliance, and Millersburg.DetailsOperational Hours: Monday - Saturday hours determined by the clinic, can be as early as 3:00 am for opener and as late as 6:00 pm for closerPCT shifts for this clinic: 3-4 days per week with a minimum of two Saturdays per month; may start as early as 3:00 amHours of work may vary during training; typically 32-40 hours per week during trainingFlexible schedule; able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysCareer development: clear paths to higher levels of responsibility and compensation by climbing our clinical ladderTraining may take place in a facility or a training clinic with a class of new teammates other than your assigned home clinicFloat to various clinics during and after your trainingQualificationsExperience working in dialysis; reliable (punctuality and attendance is crucial); willing to take on extra tasks, work as a team player, know how to work hard and have fun, able to manage stressful situations, seeking a career in patient care, comfortable with early shifts and long hours on your feet, reliable transportation and love a fast-paced environmentHigh school diploma or equivalent from an accredited schoolMust be comfortable working around blood and needlesMust be comfortable mixing acid or bicarbonateFlexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as neededPhysical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts 12+ hours) on your feet; wear comfortable shoes; work ends when it is safe for our patientsWillingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as neededDialysis experience including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT)BenefitsComprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid time off, PTO cash outSupport for you and your family: family resources, EAP counseling sessions, access Headspace, backup child and elder care, maternity / paternity leave, pet insurance, and morePaid trainingTraining may take place in a facility or a training clinic other than your assigned home clinicFloat to various clinics during and after your trainingFlexible schedule: mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysDay-to-Day Responsibilities25%: Receives patient into treatment/exam area; weighs patient, takes temperature and blood pressure pre- and post-dialysis; documents on all dialysis flow sheets.
Performs and records vital signs and all other parameters of ESKD patients as per DaVita policy and/state regulations; obtains blood samples and culture specimens and prepares for shipment.25%: Under guidance of nurse/preceptor sets up and monitors dialysis machines and RO water system; responds to alarms; performs safety checks; dismantles, cleans and disinfects dialysis machines and equipment per DaVita procedures; performs appropriate end of therapy terminal cleaning and disinfection with guidance of nurse and/or preceptor.20%: Collects patient data and reports to nurse/preceptor as needed related to: Monitoring and documenting status of vascular accesses; documenting patient observations and seeking guidance when levels are out of normal range; reporting patient parameters to registered nurse as needed; under guidance of nurse and/or preceptor initiates dialysis via approved accesses using proper cannulation or central venous catheter techniques in accordance with regulations.20%: Reviews dialysis prescription, notes general physical and mental condition of patient; determines compliance to dietary or medication regimen; documents observations and reviews with nurse and/or preceptor.5%: Performs clerical duties as needed and reviews with nurse/preceptor which may include: filing, lab requisitions, scheduling appointments, answering phones, ordering supplies, billing, copying, faxing, data entry and maintaining patient charts.EEO StatementsAt DaVita, we strive to be a community first and a company second.
