**About the Role**:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about procurement and understands how procurement contributes to the success of our projects as well as delivers benefits to the Victorian economy and disadvantaged groups. You will be working with engaged teams who deliver projects that are transforming our state, provide affordable housing and deliver social and environmental benefits to the community. You will take pride in your work and be able to walk past iconic landmarks knowing that you were involved in their development and delivery.

Development Victoria operates under a distributed procurement model where the project teams conduct procurement with the support of the Procurement Team. As such, you will support the project teams across the organisation to understand and comply with procurement and regulatory requirements rather than undertaking purchasing activities yourself.

Reporting to the Director, Procurement Strategy and Compliance and as part of the Legal and Procurement team, you will support the implementation of the Development Victoria Procurement Strategy with a focus on delivering the outlined objectives. You will need to be able to confidently provide commercially astute guidance of the procurement process and ensure compliance with government requirements such as probity and conflict of interest.

You will also be expected to work closely with the in house legal team, OH&S team and Director of Risk & HSE to proactively identify and manage procurement risks as well as collate data to support procurement strategies.

**About You**:
You will have the following:

- Experience and knowledge of contract management and procurement processes within government.
- High level attention to detail.
- High level communication skills both written and verbal (policy drafting skills will be highly regarded), as well as the ability to negotiate and influence others.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders (both internal and external) to ensure policy outcome delivery as well as compliance with procurement and policy obligations.
- Ability to conduct compliance audits and numerical data analysis.
- A flexible approach to problem solving and the ability to deal with ambiguity.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Degree in a business or similar with several years' relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience in procurement, tendering, purchasing and contract management related roles.
- Experience of government processes, policy implementation and organisational documentation particularly in relation to procurement
- Experience in a compliance and reporting role
- Experience with building construction and consultant engagement contracts (desirable)
- Property development or infrastructure industry experience, including exposure to government departments and authorities, developers, consultants, building and civil contractors (desirable)
