What you'll do

Reporting to the Head of Risk & Compliance, you'll support in developing and implementing group risk and compliance frameworks and systems, whilst providing risk and compliance support to Challenger's corporate functions

This role offers a unique opportunity to work across all aspects of group risk and compliance, including developing and managing group-wide frameworks, supporting group risk systems like BRiskWise, and driving risk culture initiatives. You'll also have the chance to shape and refine key processes like supplier risk management, risk communications, and policy management.

A role where no two days will be the same, you'll work holistically across a wide portfolio of risk & compliance work some of your other key responsibilities will include.- Stakeholder Engagement: Operate as a true risk partner and trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing expert guidance on risk management and compliance issues across the organisation.- Framework Development: Oversee and provide recommendations to continuously improve risk frameworks, and essential policies.- Risk assessments and assurance: Support risk workshops, and control self-assessments to enhance risk management, as well as performing Line 2 assurance reviews.- Board & Risk Committee Reporting: Draft detailed reports for the Board, Group Risk Committee, and Executive Leadership team, pulling data from diverse sources across Challenger.- Risk Insights: Monitor and evaluate the external regulatory environment and emerging industry trends to recommend best practices in risk management. Collaborate with stakeholders to collate and analyse data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights, continuously enhancing the quality of reporting.- Risk Initiatives: Implement CPS 230 requirements, including enhancing supplier risk governance and developing training and communications for risk culture initiatives.- Regulatory Advice: Guide regulatory interactions and maintain the GRC system effectively.

The skills and experience you'll need

You'll be an experienced Risk & Compliance professional with at least 3-5 years' experience in risk management, compliance, audit, or a similar advisory role within financial services.

You'll be a strong communicator, with experience of partnering with senior stakeholders and delivering best practice advice and guidance on all things risk and compliance. You'll be comfortable presenting to others in a confident and professional manner - and have a knack for conveying information clearly, accurately, and succinctly.

As well as;
- Sound knowledge of financial services laws and regulatory frameworks.
- Good understanding of risk and compliance management practices and frameworks
- You'll be tech-savvy. Comfortable using Excel, Power BI, and other systems to streamline processes and enhance decision-making.
- Strong skills in data analysis and report writing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think laterally to provide pragmatic, balanced advice.

Highly desirable for you to also have
- Experience with GRC systems (e.g., Nasdaq BWise, RSA Archer)
