Job Description Summary
This position will work closely with members of the Biostatistics Core in the Division of Sleep Medicine on the implementation of statistical and bioinformatics aspects of clinical research being conducted by faculty, staff and students in the Division.

This position will work closely with members of the Biostatistics Core in the Division of Sleep Medicine on the implementation of statistical and bioinformatics aspects of clinical research being conducted by faculty, staff and students in the Division.
This position is contingent upon grant funding.
Responsibilities include:
- Development/drafting of new statistical analysis plans (SAPs) aligned with the needs of a given project and implementation of existing SAPs using commercial statistical software such as SAS, STATA and R.
- Design, development, maintenance and documentation of programs utilized to extract, clean, maintain, integrate, and analyze data from ongoing prospective research studies and large-scale electronic health records (EHRs).
- Collaborate on analysis of large and developing genetic (e.g., genome-wide association study) and other 'omics datasets, including from the NHLBI TOPMed Program.
- Participate in creation of results tables and listings, dissemination of results with study investigators, and writing up of results and methods for manuscript publications and presentations at scientific meetings.
Breakdown of duties:
- 1) Perform required programming tasks for the implementation of established statistical analysis plans and analysis of biomedical big data, as well as in support of the design of future projects and grants
- 3) Provide support in the analysis of genetic and other 'omics data, including conduct of genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and appropriate follow-up analyses
- 4) Provide support in the write-up and presentation of analysis results and methodologies for peer reviewed manuscripts, presentations, and grant proposals
- 6) Consult with other members of the Biostatistics Core on analysis plans and statistical methods for various projects
- 7) Regularly review progress on assigned projects with Co-Director of Biostatistics Core
- 8) Perform additional duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of an M.S. Degree in Biostatistics, Bioinformatics or equivalent quantitative field and a minimum of 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Proficiency in a statistical programming language, preferably SAS or STATA, required
- Competency in programming languages for appropriate for large-scale data (e.g., SQL, R and/or Python) required
- Experience with machine learning methods and/or information visualization a plus
- Experience with analysis of genome-wide genetic, epigenetic, or other 'omics datasets a plus
- Experience with other programming languages (HTML5, PHP, Java, C, C++, PLINK, SUGEN, and/or Perl) a plus
- Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities to meet changing deadlines, as necessary
