Senior Financial Strategist Position
We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Strategist to join our finance team in Sydney. As a key financial partner, you will oversee critical financial operations across our diverse portfolio of leading brands.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence while supporting the company's continued growth in the rapidly evolving media landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making
Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting cycles, working closely with department heads to ensure accurate financial planning
Monitor and manage daily cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital optimisation across all business units
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (AASB), tax obligations, and coordinate external audit processes while maintaining internal controls
Supervise and mentor junior finance staff, fostering professional development and maintaining high-performance standards
Collaborate with operational teams to provide financial insights, cost analysis, and support for business development initiatives
Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Requirements:
CA/CPA qualification with 5+ years of senior finance experience
Advanced proficiency in financial systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems)
Expert-level Excel skills and experience with financial modeling and analysis
Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards (AASB) and taxation requirements
Proven experience in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial reporting
Previous experience in media, publishing, or similar fast-paced industries preferred
