Amazon Physical stores is changing retail shopping. Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by our Just Walk Out Technology, which automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to build processes and drive enhancements for our store launch supply chain. This leader must be an expert simplifier with experience in warehouse and/or inventory management. They manage the performance and processes of third-party vendors to drive operational support across the Amazon Physical Stores Network. They leverage their expertise to drive innovations and lead projects to reduce cost and help the organization scale. They are responsible for identifying issues, defining solutions, and creating processes. They will need to create strong partnerships across supply chain, finance, product, and technical teams and their impact will be visible at the Director level. They need a deep understanding of operational processes and the willingness to build structure to make better decisions. This leader works independently to identify, document and communicate solutions that will enable the customer experience and ensure our processes support the overall supply chain.
This position works with a team of transportation, procurement, and inventory experts. They are actively engaged in day-to-day operations to identify root causes and improve performance. They interact with third-party providers and aggregators. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that is only going to grow. Key job responsibilities
Manage 3P Vendor performance for pick/pack and on-time deliverables
Handle any regional escalations within the warehouse and 3P
Execute new initiatives, document best practices for existing processes, and standardize strategy
Suggest and drive process improvements, metrics to improve the overall warehouse performance and efficiency
Contribute to warehouse capacity planning
- Experience in managing people
- Proven analytical skills and highly comfortable with numbers
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including strong writing and speaking skills
- Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Ability to work across multiple teams to create scalable solutions to monitor business performance and interpret key performance metrics into actionable recommendations
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
- Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
