Workfast is looking for a qualified and experiencedMechanical Fitterto join the workshop team of a leading engineering company inChipping Norton.
Location:Chipping Norton, NSW
Pay Rate:$52.00 per hour + Overtime + Super
Hours:Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm
Start Date:ASAP
This is a hands-on role involving theoverhaul, testing, and certification of air brake componentsused in diesel-electric locomotives.
The position offersconsistent full-time hoursand the potential to transition into apermanent role.
What You'll Be Doing
Overhaul, test, and certify air brake components used in rail applications
Perform detailed mechanical assembly and disassembly work
Interpret technical drawings and follow strict maintenance procedures
Conduct safety inspections and complete relevant documentation
Assist with general workshop tasks and maintain a safe work area
Operate hand and power tools as needed
About You
Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III or equivalent)
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on workshop experience
Experience with overhauling or maintaining mechanical components (rail, industrial, automotive or similar)
Understanding of pneumatic systems (advantageous)
High attention to detail and safety awareness
Physically fit, reliable, and committed to quality work
Forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
What You Get
$52.00 per hour + super + overtime
Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm
