About us
The County Court of Victoria has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in Victoria.
The Court hears over 11,000 criminal and civil cases each year.
Since 1 January 2007, the County Court has had an unlimited monetary jurisdiction in civil matters. The County Court has concurrent jurisdiction with the Supreme Court in almost all commercial litigation.
Following the removal of the monetary limit on the Court's jurisdiction and the appointment of additional judges with commercial expertise, the commercial work of the court has grown in both size and complexity, with over 2,000 commercial initiations each year. The work of the Commercial Division now constitutes approximately 45% of the court's civil jurisdiction.
About the role
We are seeking to appoint a full-time fixed term Associate to support the Judicial Registrars of the Commercial Division.
As the Associate you will provide operational, administrative, and technical legal support to the Judicial Registrars both in and out of Court. The role involves case file management and a strong emphasis on communication at all levels.
